4 Wooden Animal Puzzles from the Vintage Info Network's Vintage Toy Series.

Each animal is made of several small pieces of stock. Each piece is notched in such a manner as to permit assembly into a recognizable animal: rabbit, pig, sheep and elephant. While basically the cutouts in this series are toys, their aim is to develop in the child the ability to recognize the fact that certain pieces, if placed incorrectly, will not produce the desired effect. A secondary aim is to develop sufficient muscular co-ordination to fit one piece into another.

For the construction of all the parts that go to make up the animals, plywood, wallboard, fiberboard or cardboard may be used. Any of these materials ranging in thickness from 1/8" to 1/4" will be found satisfactory. The size of the animals is optional, but if the construction of large sizes is contemplated, the heavier stock suggested should be used.
